We are Perri and Dan. In September 2022, we made the change to nomadic living in our simple self-built camper van, SteVAN. We’re working from the road, and exploring wild places, interesting geology and great hikes and food along the way!

People often ask us how long we plan to live this lifestyle. The answer is simple: until we don't want to anymore! Truthfully, there are so many places to explore, we can't imagine ever setting down again.

We’re happy to be out of the #floridarain! #torrential #downpours #vanlifediaries #notinthevan #notontheroad #florida #floridalife #moccasinlakenaturepark is right around the corner! It is a teeny piece of wild land beside the infamous #US19. There are many #injuredbirdsofprey here, #naturepaths and a lake where #alligators bask beside the highway. So very “florida” in every way(!) We are taking “wild” where we can find it. #notontheroad #moochdockingwithfamily #localparks #vanlifeinwinter We are definitely going to leave #florida with a few extra pounds! We checked out the 3rd Friday festival in #Safetyharbor last night #music and food everywhere. But we ended up at one of our favorites— #crookedthumbbrewery enjoying #pulledchickensandwiches from the amazing #ibbi #foodtruck #winterinflorida #notinthevanthismonth We spent the day at the #floridarvsupershow, amid an overwhelming throng of RVs and #campervans. It was interesting to check out the campers we’ve seen along the way. We saw airstreams, and storyteller overland and many, many camper vans. But we came away appreciating the van we have. Stevan isn’t glitzy or tricked out but we built it ourselves and we love its wooden walls and bright colors. Also love our storage and bookshelf and the room we saved by NOT including a shower or toilet. Those other campers were alright, but there’s no place like home ❤️ …Still hanging around in #florida— #lowtide #gulfofmexico #vanlifeinwinter #therealvanlife One of us (Perri) is a #floridagator (1992) One of the things we’re appreciating about our #winterdigs in #safetyharborfl is the #giantliveoak #trees Even more, we are appreciating spending time with my brother, who has graciously taken us in while we are here (#nomorestealthing in #florida!) Hey there! While keeping warm in Florida we've been updating and re-arranging our #vanlifeblog. I’ve been working on learning #french ever since our #springontheCoteNord in #quebec Dan speaks the language fluently, and it was hard to stand aside and try to figure out what people were saying. Can’t say I’m good at this #language but I am improving 🫤👍
